What is your creative need?

This site is an introduction of myself as a designer and future architect. It is a landing space that is intended to pair your needs with my capabilities. I am presenting a profile of myself, graduate student projects and design experiences, and some of my past design and construction projects. I’ve intentionally shared a wide variety of design and technological representation styles, techniques and softwares that I have worked with. This should be a platform that is a comfortable foundation to begin a conversation, working relationship, and hopefully a long-term friendship.

Research

Observe and question real users to understand what problems they have and what they desire and require from a solution.

Conceptualize

Using the research data, begin to idealize, sketch, formulate and test potential solutions to your user problem.

Design

Choose one solution that is most feasible and most likely to meet the users’ needs and bring it to life through the design process.

Model / Render

Fine-tune the details of the design and create a more lifelike model and/or rendered images of how the design will look and function.

Build

Ready, Set, Go! Now we are confident spending time and money building your design into a living and breathing project.

I am Dan O’Neill. I recently earned and graduated with a Master of Architecture degree from Arizona State University. I am currently growing and evolving as a professional. I plan to use the summer of 2023 to enjoy life, develop my architectural processes and explore opportunities for my future, with plans to enter the profession in 2024.

My background is a combination of titles, including: entreprenuer, business owner, franchise owner/operator, visionary, project designer, and construction superintendant. In each of those titles, I had various demands and roles that prepared me to enter the world of architecture. You are welcome to contact me if you believe that I can make a difference as a member of your team or firm.

“One of the great beauties of architecture is that each time, it is like life starting all over again.”

Renzo Piano

“If you can design one thing, you can design everything.”

Massimo Vignelli

“New York City didn’t become the greatest city in the world by saving all of its old buildings.”

-Dan O’Neill

I am Dan O’Neill. Part Urbanist, Part Environmentalist.

I have a unique background and relevant experience that provides a basis for clarity and simplicity in my designs.  My naturalistic approach to design, and use of logic and intuition to understand site, climate, and region-specific context have raised my ability to integrate a clients’ needs while creating beauty and harmony.

I have working experience in all phases of construction and extensive experience with sitework and landscape design and construction. I have imagined, designed, fabricated, grown, installed, hauled, dumped, trenched, cut, drilled, powered, changed, repaired, scored, snapped, painted, lasered, clicked, updated, trimmed, mowed, fertilized, learned, directed, lead, hiked, pushed, walked, glued, driven, connected, inspired, modeled, tested, and moved on my way to earning a Master of Architecture degree.
